durring a conversation between arty and myself, concernin the future of unana, we came up with an idea for a community project!

a compilation! except we're not calling it that. we're going to make an outsider album, by a fictional artist. the idea is that we'll create a personality for a character (like a man whose middle aged and mentally handicapped) and then make an album of songs from his perspective. the album won't have to sound continuous (like a girl can be singing even if the character's supposedly a man). but for the album we'll have to produce fake photos of the "reclusive artistic genius".

this could be alot of fun and reallllly easy to do! all we need to do is come up with a "daniel johnston, jandeck, what have you.." type of character.

i'm really excited about this, comment here if you have any ideas, or talk to arty or me.
i'm typing this in kindof a hurry, does anybody have any questions? does it make sense?

As of 5-11-05 all of these releases are for sale.
If you buy them one at a time you'll get some bonus materials such as a silk screened poster and various artifacts. If you buy all 9 of them you can get a package deal and get the artifacts all for 10 dollars. That's a lot of silly music and harsh noise for not a lot of money.

Unana comp #1
The Huckleberry Funns
Necrosis-I make, you like
Necrosis-All the shit I learned in school
Necrosis-The essential Necrosis
Necrosis-Means death
Octoplus-Death Rattle
Buttermilk Junction’s first album

Unana comp #1-A communal release with tracks spanning from noise, keyboard debauchery, all girl casio freakouts and, prog rock jams.

The Huckleberry Funns-English project gone wrong, or totally right! Arena rock mayhem with lyrics about Mark Twain's novel.

Necrosis (I make, you like)- The release that started it all, one man doom machine puts down his guitar to explore the dumbest of all genres. Dance techno! Made entirely with a bootleg casio keyboard and various gadgets.

Necrosis (all the shit I learned in school) Sophmore release by established noisician and overall goof ball. Explores daily vices as not doing homework and drinking too much chocolate milk.

Necrosis (The Essential Necrosis)- Two friends, 1 loft, lots of time on their hands. Edited rehearsal for these noise doom giants, gives us such gems as " I want to rock out with Neil Young" and a truly adorable rendition of the classic BOC cut "Cities on flame"

Necrosis (Means Death) -the prospect of dance techno is realized even more here, no vocals only the noisiest dance tunes created by a 2 dollar toy keyboard bought at a thriftshop distorted to hell and back and warped and raped by vintage delay units. Notable airplay has made this release that much sweeter for it's creator.

Octoplus (Volume) Quite possibly the loudest record of all time, loud enough that it had to be lowered 90 decibels just so it could be listenable and still loud. One man noise guru churns out plenty of high pitched slayer squeals and heart attack inducing bass tones.

Octoplus (Death Rattle) "Volume" on Nyquil.

Buttermilk Junction's first album- Heartfelt lyrics layered underneath a blanket of noise with some whacky "songs" speckling the entire record. Like Necrosis on childrens tylenol and cotton candy.

All releases come with various alternative covers that you can switch out.

We can add this to the comp [21 Apr 2005|10:18am]

haha, i read this thing on "fingerstyle blues" and within minutes i'd written my own folk-blues number!
and it goes,
like this:

"There's a cat in the window,
A cat in the window,
Cat in the window my looooooord,

Cat in the window,
Cat in the window,
Cat in the window my lord"

This is a new venture, blues songs for retarded people. I'm really excited to play this for somebody, I'm fingerpickin the fuck out of this bitch! Anybody else have anything for the comp?

UNANA comp. 2, lost forever in the folds of non-time? [29 Mar 2005|11:00pm]

So when's that comp. coming out? I've got a couple of old jams lying around and I just recorded a couple of new jams, one of which is going to sound like my tribute to Mars Volta and Tom Jones as soon as I can "lay down the vocal track." The other one I'm just going to refer to as "Piss Test." I need my microphone back to complete the masterpisses.

"Souleater (Pissin' Razorblades)"
"Heartfelt Tribute"
"Piss Test"

You want? We comp.
And if no one has any songs ready I say Creed 2 gets together and rocks forever (on the comp). Girlies/James Brown 5 reunion, Katie? Edgar and Matt, we've sung some nice acapella together, I say it's time the world heard us shine (?). I want to be all over this motherfucker, I need to spread my incompetence somewhere (else). Soon.

New, from the man who constantly reminds you of your musical shortcomings and who got Jeremy arrested for not believing that America rules, it's Wampa Attack! #1.5. It's reviews, work stories, and comics. While nothing UNANA related this issue (thankfully), it's still free! Ask and ye shall receive...

Howdy UNANA Knaves,

So, is there a comp. in the works, or what? Fo realz? Because, if so, I've got a couple of songs pretty much ding dong damn written for the "supposed comp." Scrofula LIVES! Edgar, I'm going to need your recording apparatus. For a week, tops, probably. If you don't mind, I mean.

And, about the songs, they're gonna suck. Awesome!

A review of the pointless sound pollution made by a Necrosis member [15 Nov 2004|12:36am]

Friday at Southmore House I saw some band featuring a guest member of Necrosis (I don't know his name, he's the Necrosis member who isn’t Matt or Artie) and it was awful. It was the worst musical abomination I’ve heard in quite some time; a whole lotta crap-tastic racket produced by 2 drummers, a synth, and some vocals. Seriously, it was so bad I found myself outside mingling with the art fags and jailbait scenster chicks, all of whom agreed that they’d heard cats being banged against violins that had sounded better. To top it off, after the "performance", the Necrosis guy kept trying to stare me down, failing to realize there is no possible way he could be intimidating wearing a tweed jacket and having such outlandishly long hair.
